Drilling superintendent recruitment in Saudi Arabia
Last reviewed
We crew drilling superintendents and wells leaders into the Kingdom. This page is for operators and contractors who need leadership on the well — not another junior drilling-engineer list.
The seat we actually work
Drilling superintendent recruitment in Saudi Arabia is a leadership hire: the person who owns the well programme, holds the contractor interface and signs the tour. A well-site supervisor or well-site leader holds a tour on that programme. This desk takes both when the seat is scarce wells leadership. It is not a junior drilling-engineer volume page.
The phrase “drilling engineer recruitment agency Saudi Arabia” is already a contest between large panels. We do not spend this page trying to out-shout that head term. Gas and Oil Recruitment is a British international desk. Western-HQ buyers already know us as an oil and gas recruitment agency; inside the Kingdom the useful word is international. We place people who have run comparable wells — onshore, offshore, workover or completions — not CVs padded with a single well title.
Roles this desk will take
Leadership on the well
- Drilling superintendent / wells superintendent
- Well-site supervisor and well-site leader
- Completions superintendent or completions lead
- Workover and intervention leadership where the well is the product
How the hire usually arrives
- A single vacant superintendent seat on an operator or contractor programme
- A short campaign: several well-site and completions leads for a peak
- Contract secondment where the well time is finite
- Permanent wells leadership when the operator wants the person to stay
Quota is not a sales objection we talk past
Engineering Saudization at 30% across 46 professions has been in force since 30 June 2026, with SCE accreditation and a SAR 8,000 floor for engineers who count. Wells leadership that is genuinely scarce still moves — on the operator or contractor’s quota, not around it. If the seat is a Saudizable engineer title with a ready national market, we will say so rather than take a fee to fail.
Wells campaigns and when superintendent seats usually brief
Operator and contractor wells leadership seats — single vacant superintendents or a short campaign of well-site and completions leads — often brief in the autumn peak (September–early December) and again in the January–Ramadan wave, when programmes want leadership locked before leave cycles and budget resets. Midsummer briefs still happen for urgent rig cover; expect longer approval lag. GETI 2026’s Middle East drilling-supervisor day mark remains a published regional reference, not our fee and not a seasonal price list.

Published market marks — not our fee
GETI 2026, published by Airswift on 1 September 2026, puts a Middle East drilling supervisor at $1,098 a day. That is a published regional mark for a related wells-leadership title. It is not a Saudi commissioning rate, not an Abu Dhabi AED figure, and not a margin we quote. It is why Western headquarters still retain a specialist desk for superintendent seats.

Hiring-manager questions
Drilling superintendent or well-site supervisor?
A drilling superintendent owns the well programme, holds the contractor interface and signs the tour. A well-site supervisor or well-site leader holds a tour on that programme. This desk takes both when the seat is scarce wells leadership. It is not a junior drilling-engineer volume page.
One vacant superintendent or a campaign?
Either. A single vacant superintendent seat on an operator or contractor programme, or a short campaign of several well-site and completions leads for a peak.
Is the GETI drilling-supervisor figure your fee?
No. GETI 2026 puts a Middle East drilling supervisor at $1,098 a day. That is a published regional mark for a related wells-leadership title. It is not a Saudi commissioning rate, not an Abu Dhabi AED figure, and not a margin we quote.
When should we brief a wells campaign slate?
For peak mobilisation, many clients brief in autumn or just after new-year budgets so shortlists exist before Ramadan slows approvals. A single urgent superintendent can be briefed any month; we will say if the seat looks Saudizable with a ready national market.
