Recruitment agencies in Saudi Arabia — Western oil and gas leadership

Last reviewed

Gas and Oil Recruitment is a British London specialist oil and gas recruitment desk. Hiring managers in the Kingdom, and Western headquarters staffing a Saudi project, retain us for scarce Western senior engineers and leaders. International mandates stay on this same London desk.

Two buyers. One British desk.

In-Kingdom hiring managers

Riyadh programme offices, Eastern Province sites and contractor entities that need a Western superintendent, project director or mining lead the quota still allows. We work the brief you already hold — not a volume Gulf job board.

Western HQ staffing a KSA project

London, Houston and other Western headquarters already know us as an oil and gas recruitment agency, a mining recruitment agency and an energy executive search partner. This hub is that same British house, pointed at Saudi demand.

Hiring managers in the Kingdom and Western headquarters staff Saudi oil and gas and energy leadership through recruitment agencies in Saudi Arabia. This desk takes the scarce Western seats on that brief. International recruitment agencies in Saudi Arabia is the cross-border side of the same London desk.

Specialist lanes, not a generic agency brochure

Large panels already contest the crowded oil-and-gas agency head term. This hub is built for the seats those pages blur: executive leadership, wells superintendents, project directors, mining engineer and EPCM vacancy intent, and permanent commissioning managers.

Who we place — and who we do not

Western seniors the Kingdom still imports

  • Executive and country leadership on KSA programmes
  • Drilling superintendents and wells-site leadership
  • Oil and gas project directors and EPC delivery leads
  • Mining engineers and EPCM leadership on minerals work
  • Permanent commissioning managers who stay into operations

Outside this desk

  • Graduate, technician or high-volume crew farming
  • Employer-of-record mills or iqama processing as a product
  • Promising to “get around” Saudization or SCE accreditation
  • A second UK-targeted site built on London keyword strings

Saudization, stated plainly

A 30% Saudization rate for 46 designated engineering professions has been in force since 30 June 2026. Saudi Council of Engineers accreditation and a SAR 8,000 monthly floor apply to engineers who count toward that quota. Project-management professions face a further 70% localisation from 14 February 2027. We place Western specialists where the capability is scarce and the establishment’s quota allows. We do not sell a bypass.

When Western senior seats usually brief into the Kingdom

Gulf programme and headquarters retain work commonly clusters in two windows: September to early December, when decision-makers are back and year-end mobilisation still matters, and January through the start of Ramadan, when new budgets open. Practitioners covering Saudi Arabia often cite September–November and January–March as the strongest approval stretches; July–August is usually quieter for senior loops. We still take scarce seats year-round — including urgent backfills — but we set honest expectations on interview and approval speed outside those waves.

DexterCV / Latinum HR, GCC Hiring Seasons, 19 August 2026. Directional HR commentary — not our placement forecast and not a ranking claim.

  • Autumn / early winter
  • January–Ramadan
  • Ramadan / Eid slower
  • Midsummer trough

Should we retain before winter if the seat starts after year-end?

Often yes for scarce Western leadership: shortlists and confidential approaches need runway before Ramadan and before summer leave. Timing does not bypass Saudization or SCE rules.

One-by-one or a campaign — still a specialist brief

Some clients need a single wells superintendent who will hold a rig through a campaign. Others need a slate of project and completions leads for a contractor peak. Both are this desk. Contract remains a fit for certain wells and project secondments; permanent is the default for executives, project directors, EPCM leadership and commissioning in the Kingdom.

GETI 2026 (Airswift, 1 September 2026) puts a Middle East reservoir engineer on a permanent package of about $112,247 — not the $122k figure sometimes recycled in older decks — and a Middle East drilling supervisor on $1,098 a day. Those are published market marks, not our fee. They explain why Western headquarters still retain a British partner rather than farming the seat.

Candidates with a senior, scarce CV may apply through the contact page. The commercial brief is employer-first: hire us, or retain us.
